How We Celebrate Our Birthdays

birthday

Birthdays are special days when we celebrate our lives and the things we have accomplished. They provide a good opportunity to look back at the years we have spent on this planet and also a good reason to set goals for the next year.

The earliest celebrations of birthdays were probably tied to the idea that the first day of the year was a day of change and welcomed evil spirits. In ancient times, people would light candles to ward off these spirits and eat foods that were believed to bring them good luck such as almonds and wheat.

In modern culture, birthdays have become a time of celebration and often involve gifts, parties, or rites of passage. Many religions, such as the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, also celebrate births of their founders with special holidays (e.g. Christmas, Mawlid, Buddha’s Birthday, and Krishna Janmashtami).

Happy Birthday Song

The Happy Birthday song is a popular song that is sung on birthdays. It was originally copyrighted in 1935, but is now in the public domain. In 2015, a US court declared that the copyright had been invalid and released the song into the public domain.

Cumpleanos feliz

A Spanish version of the Happy Birthday song, Cumpleanos feliz, is sung on birthdays and is regarded as a traditional birthday greeting in many cultures. It is usually sung as part of the opening ceremony of a birthday party.

Countdown to Your Birthday

One of the most fun ways to count down to your birthday is with an oversized calendar that you can punch out holes for a gift every day until it arrives on the actual birthday date. This can be a great way to help kids understand how much their birthday means and it’s also a good chance to teach them about symmetry and numbers.

Beddian Birthdays

The term “Beddy birthday” came from a New York firefighter who noticed that he was born during the same year he turned 53, which happened to be 2006 or 2007. It turns out that if you were born in an even-numbered year, then your Beddian birthday will always happen in an even-numbered year as well.

Why do we celebrate birthdays?

We all celebrate our birthdays for a variety of reasons. It is a time to celebrate the fact that we are alive, that we have survived another year, that we have achieved what we set out to achieve, and most importantly, it is a time for friends and family to come together and enjoy our special day!

Birthdays are a great chance to make a new friend or get closer to someone you already know. They are also a good opportunity to spend quality time with your family and loved ones, and to plan for the upcoming year.

If you’re a parent, the birthdays of your children are an opportunity to let them know how much you love them and appreciate their efforts. A small gift or a card full of birthday wishes will go a long way in making them feel loved.
