The birthday is an important date in the life of a person, usually celebrated with friends and family at a party. A special cake is often eaten, and the celebrant may receive gifts. While we don’t know the exact origins of the “Happy Birthday” song, it is believed that the Hill sisters wrote it together as a way to remember their sister Mildred. The song is now one of the most recognized in the world, having been used in countless films, TV shows, and commercials.
Aside from holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, which are both common reasons to skip a birthdate, there are other factors that can make someone less likely to have a particularly memorable birthday. The most notable are major events like 9/11, which has caused a significant dip in people born on September 11, and cultural beliefs that prevent some from celebrating on April Fools Day or other unlucky dates.
